Hey Guys,
I am just curious as to if you all could igve me some good feed back as to what you would of done if you were me.My Notebook was a gift from my parents celebrating my new job.
1st Issue
My notebook shuts off at random times for no apparent reason.
There Solution:
Send use the notebook and we will fix it.
Feedback:
They did not fix the issue two days after I receive the notebook it starts again. I call and ask what was done to my notebook and the technician on the phone says ” We sodered the motherboard and reseated it.”

My parent’s lost my format CD’s so I had none and was useing a copy of xp Pro and in the device manager after the install are these devices with no supported driver.
SM Bus Controller
Mass Storage Controller
VGA Controller
I get all the drivers from an online technician from HP’s techinical staff.
Sure enough the issue persist and I get no where. They say I need to use ther install cds and they are going to send me new ones since i am under warranty. SO I agree and wait for the cds. I receive them and they are the wrong install cds. So I have to wait another week to get the correct ones and the issue persist.

Problem: Computer shuts down at random times:
There Soltuin:They send me a new hard drive, and Gurantee me this will fix the issue and sure enough it didnt. It wouldnt even format.

Problem:I am angry because in 2 weeks I am without a pc.
Solution:Got a case manager.
I am told HP’s case manager will call me in 24 hours or less. He calls the wrong number and then blames it on me. So after we have that battle he says that he is gonna send me new cd’s and have me try again. SO I agree and say ok. I receive two CD’s from there Case manager and one of them is the windows xp home edition. The other is to install my cd burner and I still have no drivers for my network adapters. I format with his OS cd and those drivers for the Controllers are still not there. So I call him and he says “It might be the memory if you wanna send it in we will look at it” so I just get annoyed and go buy a bigger stick of memory. So I then put it in and the issue is it still shuts down. Then I think it could be over heating and I buy a cooling tray and the issue still presist. I attempt to call him the monday before crhistams he is to busy to talk to me. He calls me back on tuesday and I give him an update. He then says he wants to research. He will call me back and he doesnt call me. So I go to Best Buy to just get my memory and be done with the situation. BUT NO the issue persist.
This Week:
I call Monday,Tuesday,Wedensday, and Thursday and every time I am told a Case manager will call me back with in 24 hours. All is quiet on my home front. I have heard nothing even with three phone calls in and complaints.
When I talk to my next case manager should I:
A) Ask for a new note book
B) Ask for my notebook to fixed
C)Ask for my money back
D) Give me your feed back if you were in this postion.
Also mind you I am a PC Technician at a Hospital where I live. I usally work from home over VPN so that I can reset passwords or unlock a machine from home. Or just do normal task remotely and save myself a 45 minute drive both ways in the midddle of the night. So I lost that luxsury and it makes me upset.
