HP LaserJet 1100 not printing WinXP Home

Windows XP Home edition is having trouble printing to a HP LaserJet 1100, in order to print the paper must be lift and droped back into the paper slot, the printer was changed to another identical model to try to see if it was the printer, the problem is identical. HP talks about the port configuration but for other models.
