    HP laserjet III Network Adapter

The adapters in my Laserjet III’s are set up for Novell. Are they configurable for TCP/IP (and how?), or does that warrant replacement?

if memory serves – you most likely have a jetdirect card – on the lcd of the printer you should be able to turn on tcp/ip by going to the config option and pressing the select ( to remove the * from the right of the disabled – it might have a dummy ip like 192.0.0.192) and set up TCP/IP – I think thats right – I know it is for a laserjet 4si
print out a configuration page from the test menu and see what it says – also print a menu map for that matter – good luck

Good answer, but the Laserjet III series isn’t nearly as advanced as the LJ4. I pulled the Jetdirect card out of the printer, and NOVELL ENET/802.3 with a MAC address is on a label stuck to a large removeable chip.

        I guess 10base-T doesn’t implyTCP/IP.
