I have a used omnibook 6000 with an 850MHz p3 proc and 256MB RAM. I bought the computer from someone who installed XP Pro on it, as it came with 2000 pro originally. The battery is apparently brand new, and physicaly looks that way, and the leds all show that it’s fully charged.
The problem is that it spontaneously gets a reading of 0% and the battery led on the hand rest of the laptop turns red. At that point, the computer starts to lag and I can’t tell how much charge there really is. It still runs, because there is in fact power, and this problem occurs whether I have the ac adapter connected or not.
If anyone could offer suggestions, I would very much appreciate it.
