GF’s laptop wont boot up, tried a new adapter but no change.The keyboard lights come on as soon as the adapter is pluggged in(which I dont think they used to), but status lights dont even flicker. Seems to access cd drive(drive light flashes),but wont boot off a cd, cant get safe mode or bios up.Power button turns it off when held down.This is with battey in or out.
Currently saving data off the HD as I’ve finally got an adapter to work – wouldn’t work on USB so slaved to a pc. I’m just trying to copy over as folders but wonder if its worth trying to image them so we can reinstall them if the lappy can be fixed? Any one got suggestions or advice as I’m ‘pushing my envelope’ here! (been messing with pc’s for ten years but just starting A+)
