I’m in panic mode and worried… I wanted to do a favor to my sister and upgrade her memory for her Hp Pavillion dv6205us. It ran slow because it only has 512Mb of ram, so i bought 2Gb of ram, and installed it myself. Everything worked perfectly and i was proud of myself, the computer seemed much faster and Windows detected the 2 gigs. Then all of a sudden, everything was booted already, and the computer just turned off. I couldnt turn it back on. I reseated the ram, even put the old ram back in, nothing works. Only a blue light blinks 3 times. I’m scared, maybe it was ESD? but how did it work in the beginning?
Please tell me what could be the problem? and how should i solve the solution? Thank you.
