I have the strangest with a laptop which is driving me crazy.
The touchpad suddenly stopped working a little over a wek ago. I tried everything to re-install the touchpad driver Softwre but the touchpad failed to respond when touched. There were no error messages. laptop otherwise works ok. Works fine with a mouse.
I tried installing a new driver from the HP website to no avail. As a last resort i tried reinstallaing the Operating system with the original disks and when prompted to format i did so with WinNT.
At this point in the Operating system re-installation the touchpad suddenly starts working until the Operating system is fully installed and then the touchpad stops working again.
Anybody shed any light on why the touchpad would suddenly start working during a re-install of the Operating System but once the re-install is complete stop again showing the original symptoms?
Any assistance greatly appreciated
