I have a new HP laptop. Actually two, but one I had put the software for the printer on it. The computer specs include, HP AMD 64×2 Vista (Here is a link to the exact compter http://www.igive.com/html/fmsw.cfm?vendorid=1031&uuid=b492949cd3232). My printer is HP 2600n. I have updated the firmware of the printer. I have updated the drivers of the printer to 64 bit. Nothing works on this computer.
The computer that has the software on it, the software refuses to uninstall. I get an error box stating “setup encountered an abnormal program execution. Setup will shutdown.” I have attempted the removal via control panel, the disc, and hp software. Hp has been most unhelpful. I am thinking it is fragmented perhaps and needs a manual uninstall, something is corrupted somewhere. If I can uninstall it, I can start to focus on the other issue of getting the printer to work…
The other computer only has the drivers installed, but does not work, but does recognize the printer and says it is printing.but it never does. Not sure what is going on there.
The printer works! I use it on 3 other computers daily.
