HP Printer on Win ME

I’m haveing a problem getting a HP Deskjet printer running on an HP Pavilion 8240 running Win ME. It doesn’t see the printer at all using the USB or the Parallel port. I’ve tryied unistalling it and re-installing it. It just won’t see it. I’ve used the printer on a Win98 machine and it works fine. the 98 PC is almost the same model. if anyone knows any thing please share. Thanks.
