I'm thinking about purchasing a P400 for a high-end workstation. HP only lists Windows server operating systems supported with drivers. Does anybody know if the drivers are compatible with XP (and maybe Vista, some time).
I'd like to utilize Seagate Barracuda SATA drives I already own. They're attached with standard SATA cables to the controller, or will I need special cables and/or drive enclosures? I can live without hot plug capability.

I have the same card on my system. For windows xp use windows 2000 drivers. Vista has driver for the card but I have more performance from those for windows 2008. You need sff-8484 to sata for sata hdd. I use those from adaptec. I also use seagate sas 15.5 but you need sas bay for those. Updating the bios is very recommended. many issues resolved.
