HP STATUSCLIENT - invalid page fault

By Gregg S ·
After installing an HP 1012 LaseJet printer locally via USB to a Windows XP machine and sharing it on our P2P LAN, the clients frequently get the error message "STATUSCLIENT caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL" Usually, if not always, it occurs at bootup. It does not always occur, which makes troubleshooting that much more difficult, but happens on various PC's running Windows 98 and 98SE. The message will not close down--I have to reboot the PC to get rid of it.

Any ideas as to how to solve this annoying problem? Thanks!

Hmmm. I sounds like the client is generating errors due to HP print drivers.

You may want to check for HP driver updates and test different drivers on the printer and the Win98 machines.

They have both local and host drivers as well as a CD you can order of both drivers. The host package also comes with HP toolbox disgnostics.
