A friend of mine has an HP Pavilion that is 14 months old. The Hard drive fails, but he never created a system recovery CD. So we order the System Recovery Discs from HP and a new HDD from New Egg. After several unsuccessful attempts to restore the system. I contact HP and am told that the system recovery discs will only work on a HDD that is purchased from HP. Has anyone else heard about this?
