When installing a LexMark printer on our PDCK, the spooler and RPC services died. We have rebooted but no cigar. A Dr. Watson is generated when trying to restart the spooler service and RPC generates a "unavailable" error.

HELP!!! We are on the verge of calling MS Tech Support on this one. As you can see by the points assigned, this is a BIG one.

The calvary arriveed late I guess :)
Update the printer driver, it may have not been compitable with nt (always install the latest driver, the drivers on the manufacturer cd are most of the times outdated.) Or change the driver to another manufacturer that's compatible with the Lexmark.

reinstall the sp6a of nt also.

We did reapply sp6a and updated the printer driver. That was worse that before. We ended up using an older driver which worked for some oddball reason!
Thanks for replying. Sorry for not getting back to this sooner.

The Problem is the installed Printerdriver for the Lexmark Printer. Install a new driver from Lexmark or take a compatible driver for that printer !
TIP: you can take drivers from w2k CD also !
