Question

By dbk576 ·
When I logon to my pc by clicking the "Internet Explorer" icon on my desktop the system normally takes me to "aol.com" log-in screen, email, etc!

Now when I logon, the "aol.com" appears for about 2 or 3 seconds, then the system displays the "http://protectionsoft.com" website screen.

How do I "stop" the "protectionsoft.com" website from popping up when I'm logging on everyday?

Spyware?

by Toivo Talikka In reply to http://protectionsoft.com

Your homepage may have been hijacked by a drive-by download site. Do a full spyware scan using a reputable anti-spyware product like Spybot Search & Destroy or Microsoft's Windows Defender. Watch out for rogue products which pretend to be anti-spyware but can make things worse, on the top of costing money.

More details from my anti spyware page at http://totaldata.biz/spyware.html#Removal and http://totaldata.biz/spyware.html#Links. Good luck!
