Https error in IE 6

By chuxiz ·
I'm upset about this problem. Each time I try to access a secure site say Netspend.com for instance, I get a an https error page. I have reinstalled IE6 several times but to no avail. Please help me.

This is only a suggestion.! but you might
try updates at Microsoft. I know they have issued some patches/fixes for IE6.
Hope it helps

Are these SSL-protected sites you went to before the upgrade? Well, I would try removing the certificates issued by these web sites. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Publishers button.
Select the HTTPS web sites you can't hit, then click the Remove button. Just to be safe when done, reboot. Call me old fashioned!
Maybe if you remove the certificates you previously accepted in the lower version of IE, then go to them again, IE6 will be happy and accept them.
It is worth a shot!

You may need to upgrade to 128 bit encryption. Check the help about box in IE to view your "cipher Strength". If it is 56-bit, click on the update information link. This will take you to the Microsoft site where you can download and install the High Encryption package for your browser. This fixes many problems with secure (https)sites.
Hope it helps you too!

Note: IF you are using Windows 2k or XP, this does not work. To update the browser you have to load the Windows2k or XP security update. This will be on the MS site but as an OS update not an IE update. However, it will add the 128-bit encryption to IE.
