I am looking for a very good sound card which will work with Vista. The sound quality is very important!!

Best Sound Card in the market.

As there are no Best sound Cards per say only best for a particular job. But having said that one of the Turtle Beach Sound Cards would probably suit your needs.

Audigy or X Fi will suit your needs quite well and not break the bank. you can get full specifications from here

AS far as the external Sound Devices go I would steer clear of them as they have slower Sampling Rates than the internal Cards

I have a Soudblaster eXtigy. External UDB interface. Front and rear sound SPDIF. Optical, remote control. Its like having a sound system for your computer.
