It's 1 of 2 things:

either the cd is bad (scratches, damage etc) or you're trying to copy copyright protected files.

Cheers.

the cd is neither bad nor files are copy right procted.the cd is an mp3.the error occurs only at few songs.if it is copyright protected then my friend can't write that mp3.is there another fault?

If you have a CD buring program like NTI, Nero, Roxio, even Winamp or Windows Media Player does this, you can "rip" the songs off the CD onto the hard drive as MP3 or MP4 or something.
You should be able to successfully do it like that.
Copying the files right off the CD in Explorer will not work for they have to be converted into the format for you to play.

Hello,

The most likely cause is a slight scratch or bad place on the CD. Using an appliance such as Diskdoctor might fix it. The easiest way to quite likely fix it or at least determine the problem for sure is to download a utility called isobuster that can fix a host of problems with CD's and DVD's. You can get that program at http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/

There is a free version available there. Best of luck.
