I Got A Fatal Exception Code

by wkc0123 . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

When working with my system running Windows 98, it always craches unexpectedly.
The system haltes and popes up a message as:

“A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C00 4EB15 in VXD VCACHE(01) +
00000315.
The current application will be terminated.”

The message askes to press any key to continue or press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart the system. However, I have no choice and use to have push the power button to shut it down because it was freezed.

After the system restarts, it runs the Disk Doctor and shows the hard drive has lost cluster. The Disk Doctor fixes the problems. Afterwards, it will run the Microsoft Registery Checker and asks to restart the system again. The system axactly cannot restart, I have to shut it down again and wait for arround 20 minutes until I can reboot it.

It makes me frustrated and would like to ask someone advise what is happenning to my computer and how to fix it.

My system equiped with Pentium III, 733 Mhz. It was install with 256 MB RAM
and running Windows 98.

Your help would be appreciated.
