I have an MPP file, totally created in Project 2010, either hangs or causes Project 2010 to crash. Seems that there's some corruption in it. Have tried downloading the (few) solutions out there, without success. Not many good solutions it seems. Anyone have a clue to how resolve? This 7MB file is pretty significant, and rekeying it really isn't an option.

Another solution - Restore through Microsoft Project

Using a computer with Microsoft Project, open the application and click "File" and then "Open." Navigate to the directory containing the ".MPP" file you want to open. Double click on the file's name to open the file. Click “File,” “Print” and the “Print” button to print the MPP file. Click “File,” “Save As.” Enter a new name for the file in the box next to “File name:” to rename the MPP file, if desired. Click the “Save” button.

Try MPP Viewer — which will allow you to view the file (obviously), print it and also export it in Excel format, from where you could probably reimport into Project…
similar question was posted here recently, have a look there for some other suggestions
