I have been asked

By zlitocook ·
To search and find what a person has been doing with her computer at work. This person has been written up for not doing what she is hired for at least once before. I have now been tasked to find where she goes, and where she searches on the Internet. I have become the person that I hate; I watch where the people I help. And report to people that I do not know about things that may be bad!
Have any of you been in this kind of problem before?

I've tried to forget the times that covert
observation had to be done, but it isn't easy.
I used REDHAND and was pleased how easy it was
to set up and use. Then I showed the person
who's job it was to order the observation how
to install and use the program, getting me off
the hook.

Once you are in management you find the situations take on a different meaning. There are people that use a companies resourses for things they would not do at home.

I have had to do this multiple times. It's not always pleasent. Expecially once you find out what the person is doing.

One employee was hired and had not been there 3 days when I was asked to monitor his internet access. 14 days later the information proved he was doing nothing but downloading music, porn, and searching for a better job. I really don't know if he was fired or quit to go to a new job.

There are programs that can be installed on the computer that will email a complete running history of everything that is done on that computer. It is transparent to the user and antivirus programs. It can be set up to email the reports to the the person that has requested the audit.

Good Luck
