I have downloaded Mozilla Firefox to surf the web to replace IE

By d06mlb ·
I have had to download Firefox to be able to surf the web because IE 7 has so many problems on my computer. I use Windows Vista. I am automatically updating vista so I cannot understand why Firefox works so smoothly but IE won't. There is a problem to this solution. Some of the internet sites do not work properly in Firefox. So I still have to revert back to IE to use them. Is there a patch or something else I should do to correct this so I can get IE back?

uninstall IE7

by Snuffy09 In reply to I have downloaded Mozilla ...

uninstall IE7 or whatever version you have

But dont use windows to uninstall it download revo uninstaller us this tool to uninstall.

then download the newest version of IE from filehippo.com or use microsoft updates

I like firefox but like you said its not 100% compatible with all websites so i find myself having to jump back to IE for things like banking and online shopping.

Good luck and post back!

Veiw pages in IE through Firefox

by Jay217 In reply to uninstall IE7

Firefox has an amazing list of addons available. The web developers at my company use an addon called 'IE View' @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/35/ to do exactly what you're looking for with a simple click when opening a page.

Before uninstalling IE7 you can try doing a full reset and see if that clears whatever problems you're having. Open IE -> tools -> Internet Options -> advanced -> reset.

Good luck!
