By madhusudhanrao_t ·
I got less space on my server. As my financial status doesn't allow i cant upgrade my hardware. So, i want to control user db's not to extend certain size by enabling db quotas. Though i enable quotas users can send and receive mails i want to stop that, how can it be done ?

Alternatively, you can consider getting users to archive their db.

First of all, have you created a regular COMPACT program document that will run on your server every night. By default there is a compact command in one of the servertasksat lines in the INI file. I found that this did not work very well in R5 so I removed it and created a program doc that ran the compact with the following switches : -S 10 -B -D ( these are case sensitive) The -B is the importent one as this is the one that reduces the physical file size.

If you have enabled quotas and they don't seem to be working there is a new option in R% called HARD Quotas. These are enabled by creating a configuration document in the nab for the server and in the router restrictions and controls tab the last option is to obey quotas...

Hope these two options help you out...

Declan Lynch.
