Confilct

I have seen this happen from time to time when Symantec av is installed with Mcafee also installed and have recovered by starting in safe mode then uninstalling Symantec and Mcafee then reboot and install only one. Mcafee and Symantec don't seem to always play well together.

Norton 360 did the same to me

by olyduck In reply to I install norton Symantec ...

I just installed Norton 360, which has Norton Anti Virus, after trying to restart following updates, I too got the BSOD with the same noted dll file missing ;-(. I'm running Win XP Pro. I tried using the repair functions off off my Win XP CD, but it kept asking me for the freaking password for the administrator. Did you ever solve the problem?
