I need a Vbscript for software inventory.

Hi,
Everybody!

I need a script to collect all possible informations about software installed in system (2000/XP). It must by all software installed in the system, not only that collect by WMI.

I hate to say 'it cannot be done' but....

The issue is that some apps appear in the registry, some apps only exist as executable files, and some appear in add-remove programs.

Technically it's possible to gather all this info altogether, but you end up with a like a thousand pages of listings of executable files, and the thankless task of trying to figure out what they are.

Your best bet is to find a utility to do this. Obviously a commercial tool like Altiris software inventory would work, but there are some shareware/freeware options such as:
