I need help transferring Data From a Corrupted SATA Drive

by jp0808 . Updated 16 years, 7 months ago

I have a DELL XPS M1330 running Vista business with a 120 GB SATA HDD that got corrupted yesterday. I am not getting the blue screen, but it would not boot from the drive. So I bought a SATA to usb enclosed connecter and took out the SATA drive from my notebook and connected to the enclosure. THe USB end I connected to another laptop running XP.

I am not able to see the contents of the drive except for one partition that contains the factory settings and image. When i click on the main data area I am getting the prompt ” The disk is not formatted. Do you wish to format it. ”

I have sensitive data in the drive and need desperately to retrieve it. They are all documents.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank
