This just showed up in my e-mail inbox. I’m betting most developers with those skills are interested in more than 4-6 weeks. I’ve been doing transformation as described since 1997 but not with .Net (but could migrate there I’m sure):
I need a Microsoft SQL/VB.NET programmer who can write a complex data
transformation program. The data transformation program will basically be a
user’s procedural interface to capturing data from one database system and
creating flat text files to be imported into another database system. The two
database systems are both ODBC compliant. There are exactly 10 functions that
the data transformation tool needs to be able to perform. I need someone who
can take my ideas and needs and program the tool in a method where if my data
changes slightly an entire rewrite of the tool will not be necessary. I need
someone who is willing to listen and ask appropriate questions of me to be able
to get the job done right in a minimum of iterations.
This is a 4-6 week contract position for a large company in Birmingham, AL.
