I started to have low fps

    by alejandrokerr ·

At the beginning of this week I started to have low fps. I already formatted my pc 2x and nothing. I used to have 50-90 fps on the csgo low 720p but now I have 10-30 fps. The cpu and gpu are at normal temperatures. It affects all games like CSGO, Valorant, Minecraft, Overwatch…My laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad S145-15API. It has less than 1 year of life. I already installed the drivers i need.
    Specs: CPU – Amd Athlon 300u / GPU (integrated) – Vega3 / Ram – 2x4GB 2400

      I’ll start with https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-IdeaPad-S145-15API-Laptop-Review-An-affordable-office-laptop-with-an-AMD-Athlon-APU.449884.0.html

      “Gaming Performance
The S145-15API can run some games smoothly, but only at low details and resolutions. This is further restricted to titles that only have moderate system requirements. Activating dual-channel mode would improve frame rates somewhat, too.”

This laptop is in a class where an update or change in the OS or almost anything can tank game performance. I have to write there is no solution except to keep a full backup of the system that worked.

There can be other issues but I will decline listing them since your post only has what you revealed. No mention of being on battery power, testing without the external mouse, no external display or what security system is used as well as the ALL IMPORTANT UPGRADE to dual channel RAM.

If you wish, supply a WEB link to the SPECCY report and I’ll give it the once over. However I will stand firm you must get the RAM to dual channel or you run the risk that OS and other updates will cause what worked last year to forever doom this laptop to what it does today.
