I think I have a virus but kaspersky is not picking it up. What do I do?

I have tried scan after scan even in safe mode. My pc all of a sudden has gotten very sluggish and audio skips unless its in safe mode. Sometimes my firewall just crashed for no reason as well. this has never happened in the past. I am running outpost firewall.
