better graphics support/font support. The standard has moved from 640X480 to 800X600, note 640X480 not 600X480(that may be the problem or it may be whats necessary for lcd don't know can't tell ya). 800X600 is standard and fonts are built for that.
Drivers' compatibility with the OS (or the lack thereof). If you are not using the right driver for your OS, it could default to a standard driver that is not right for either the LCD or your external monitor.
For LCD Video drivers: Go to: http://www.ibm.com/us/ Click on: Support & Downloads Click on: ThinkPad In the Enter model & type, enter: 2645-4AU Click on: Go Click on: Frequently Asked Questions Click on: TPAD-MATRIX Click on: ThinkPad 600, 600E, 600X Series Click on: Video
DOwnload and install the latest Video drivers for your 600E and whichever OS you are using.
---- For your external monitor, check your monitor's manufacturer's website & device manager.
P.S. You could also have a video card or systemboard problem within the laptop itself (probably not the LCD because the external monitor also exhibits the same problem). This could be a hardware problem especially if "it used to work" and nothingOS-wise or hardware-wise has changed (ie. you have not recently changed any drivers and the video has been getting worse over time).
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
