IBM Computer Randomly Shutsdown

By technogeek-1995 ·
One of my teachers at school has an IBM ThinkPad Tablit. Someone dropped it and now it (at the wierdest times) will shutdown. It will also stand by. Any sugestions on how to fix it. It isn't something in power on display menu.

Make: IBM Tablet
Model: X41
Processor: Pentium M
Windows: XP service 2 on Windows Server

More Specs can be provided upon request.

<Sorry if there are spelling errors; I am on a crapy IE and not Fire Fox>

With a product like a Tablet it could be a number of things. But is the tablet actually shutting down, a windows shutdown or is it crashing, loosing power, just going to dead..

At the most weirdest of times the screen goes black. Then it has to be re-powered and it prompts for a password.

Well, I would

Well I would send it in for repair. It is probably a hardware issue and should be sent in for repair if under warranty.
