IBM Dock II Docking Station

Yo cannot. If the system was built to allow it to use internal SCSI deveices, the SCSI controller is part of the system board. Your only posssible choice might be to sen it back to IBM and have them rebuild it for you. I see nothing in the user'sguide for the Dock II that suggests that you can exchange the SCSI controller for an IDE controller. You might try IBM tech support.

IBM Dock II Docking Station

A local technician told me he already checked with IBM and was told that I needed an IDE Card and a new cable harness.
My problem is that I dont know if there is already one in machine. With top off, looking straight at the front, to the left of the SCDSI interface, which is horizontal, is a smaller interface which is vertical.
I am wondering if the smaller interface is IDE.
Also, a technician told me that some of those older Docking stations would not recognise more than 8g of space in a storage drive. I want to install a 20G hard drive and a CDRW Burner in the two bays.
