If you are sure that the HD you put in is the correct part number for your IBM thinkpad, make sure that your ribbon cable and power are connecte securely.

If CMOS is not able to find it, see if there are any jumpers on the HD itself and set them to cable select.

Also, try putting the old HD back in and make sure CMOS can still find it, you may have a brand new bad HD.

just uninstall and reinstall. make sure a dos utility diskette can read it.

i don't know your situation, but maybe you should install an os before it'll boot to hdd?

Hello,

After checking above answers.. I have worked on a lot of ThinkPads (Stink Pads). Do yourself a favor and follow the directions that are availble on IBM's web site. They will give you the correct information and the correct files that you will need to download and the proper order in which to proceed. You will need the full model number off the bottom of the laptop.
