IBM thinkpad booting problem

By maya_farhat ·
Hi, I have a 4 years old ibm thinkpad running on windows xp . It was working fine until this morning. I tried to boot it and it goes all the way in through Windows XP loading screen then it loads my desktop picture and it freezes there. Sometimes it even go through and it loads my desktop and then it freezes right there so I can not access anything! I tried safemode, it works and I can access everything. I ran spyware, virus programs, windows defender, everything but nothing was found... I don't know what to do to be able to enter with normal mode and not safe mode... any suggestions?

Try booting to the "Last Known Good" configuration

Since you are able to boot into Safe Mode, you should be able to boot into normal mode using the Last Known Good configuration.

When you boot the laptop, press the <F8> key repeatedly starting immediately after POST (the beep). You should be presented with a menu of Windows boot options from which you can select the last known good configuration.
