I'd like to ask about servers?

By johnaisaka ·
I am trying to start my first web app and I'm not sure about which non local host servers to use or what kind are best and what cost's are associated? Then the next hundred steps from there after this part of it is ressolved in a perhaps more laymen terminology or with some basic tips and understanding on how to create an app like a pro would help also.
I'm intending use for such app on various websites with different variations of XML and any assistance on which site is easiest to use that will also accept a perhaps less advanced app than usual will be of great help to me.
cheers.

You have a lot of questions, some a bit vague.

You are looking for a web-hosting service? Check the sites of these services and they will tell you what they support as far as the back end.

E.g., here is an article which shows a hosting provider as an example, with all the technologies listed. So, if a server supports PHP, then you can run your PHP stuff on it. If you can rent "raw" server space, you can load whatever you want on the back end.

"how to create an app like a pro "
First, learn basics of coding, then whatever technologies you will want to use (e.g., XML based stuff), then look up whatever you need help with, then ask specific questions for what you cannot find yourself. There are no generalized pro coding tips that cover everything and instruct the uninitiated in step-by-step instructions for every occasion.

"I'm intending use for such app on various websites with different variations of XML and any assistance on which site is easiest to use that will also accept a perhaps less advanced app"

Depends on what exactly you want in terms of "easy". But the host in the article offers a lot of easy methods, as do others. You need to find what fits you. Not sure what a "less advanced app" is, but if it is your server space & website, you can run whatever you want on it, regardless how awful it is. Just take a look around the internet and you'll see plenty of bad and "not so advanced" coding.

Now, if you wanted to put an app on a site owned by someone else, that would be entirely up to the site owner. I mention this only as you seem to be using "site" and "web hosting server" interchangeably.

That's Pretty Funny!

Op asks a totally vague and nearly unintelligible question. Some one attempts to parse the question and provide some general guidance. OP gets insulted, calls the responder names, and wants the response deleted. Gotta love it!

Sorry to offend you as I know my question seems vague to the uninitiated but I wasn't looking someone's basic understanding and interpretation of non professional web applications advice. Is that all you've read online or is there going to be more insults? Perhaps if you had any tips at all besides standard info of some outdated web application like basic coding apps or w/e that I already understand quite well then you could of been more help than just an coy little A Hole. I have also web hosted since the inception of the web so if I require your google services of finding them or need you to call my isp for some of their free services I will be sure to notify you.

As for any servers that don't support PHP then I'll be sure not to use those ones which must be pre 1995 so I guess I won't do that at all Mr Arrogant Hole.

Sooooo Sorrrrry

by johnaisaka In reply to I'd like to ask about ser ...

I guess I am a real noob and my question shows I need to go back and learn some basic coding like HTML first. I guess I shouldn't of bothered asking tech republic anything since I am uniniated in web hosting services. I've decided to at least get a Phd in computer science before coming back here. I will instead not bother with this project as there are no chances for my uniniated abilities to even figure out how to use a tool kit much less subscribe to a web master or even find some general tips or pointers that I can get from anyone or even Spencer Kelly because I still use flow diagrams to give me step by step psyeudo coded intellisense aided instructions. I do know how to make a good cup of joe so I'll probably do that job again instead of screwing up the datum points on my old boss' CNC machine. I don't know if your software corporation is hiring but if it is then please let me know so I can apply for an interview. I have also used a broom before in a mechanical engineering lab so I am well "initiated" in that if it is needed too. Until then I will turn off my computer and go get some coffee for myself before I break my computer as I am also a novice in windows forms etc too. I don't even know how to set up my internet connection without step by step instructions from the tech dept of my isp because I dare not read any manual of which is very vague and too complex for my uninitiated engineering communications class score of which I only managed a solid B which means my lecturers thought I was vague in intellect too. What I'm driving at is that I clearly don't belong in this field and so I have decided to go do something else with my life. Finally I can leave it all to your masterful skills and go back mussel farming on the Gt Barrier or something. I just need to learn how to swim of course in case the barge we built doesn't float anymore. Anyway have a good life there in cyberland.
PS I will be unavaible for any future conventions as I will be out of reach for contact as I don't know the geometric intricacies of my mobile telephone either. But I will try to go back and figure out Alexander Bell's technologies more like what you said so you can initiate my long gone technological efforts into your elite world of web developers one day of which my friends mum who runs a small tupperware branch has gone and become a member of such web developing organisations. I believe I will close this window now with a OOP method. Good bye. //click to end this nonsense./*
