IDE detection on a SCSI instal of NT

by the-iceman . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

I have NT installed on an Intel L440GX+ MotherBoard w/ onboard SCSI & IDE. There were no IDE devices present upon installation. I beleive that IDE drivers were never installed because after hooking up an IDE drive to the board Disk Admin would not detect the drives. The customer now has purchased an ATAPI Travan drive which aslo will not detect. I have come to the conclusion that since the installation was done on SCSI drives NT did not load any IDE controller device drivers. How can I get NT to install IDE controller drivers? Do I have to reinstall NT with at least one IDE hard disk in place? Is there an easier way?
