I have a WD200BB-00CVB0 Western Digital 20GB hard drive that was zapped and the electronics are done for.
I can get another WD2000BB-????? drive with the same specifications and swap the circuit boards to try recovering the data. Will this work or is the electronics calibrated per-drive to the physical motor, platters, etc.?
Need definitive answer.
