If you know, post the make and model of the PC.

If not, open the box, and look at the motherboard.

After the CPU, the 2 largest ICs on the motherboard are the chip-set.

There should be a manufactures logo, and a part number on each IC.

Common chip-set manufactures include:

AMD
ALI (Aladdin) (Acer semi-conductors)
Intel
SiS
VIA

For AMD and Intel, knowing what type of CPU you have can help us direct you to the download.

For ALI you need to know the exact part number on the IC.

Please fill in some blanks for us:

Which version of Windows?
Any information on the make and model of your PC or motherboard?

You need to boot to a win98 boot floppy. This will have the drivers to load for your cd drives.

If you don't have or can't get a copy you can download it from bootdisk.com
