We have just got into the W2000 world, we have a new Compaq server / raid 2 configed with hot spare for DHCP / DNS / AD. We do not have another domain controller for the site, so I was thinking of using one of our desktops for a backup.

Now since I was thinkning of this a little more, I was also thinking of adding a couple of things to the server, like a tape device & Raid card so that we could get some file and print services out of it on top of of the domain backup duties.
Hardware is a IBM M-41 2.2G processor, add Mem it to equal 2G, single nic… etc
First of all does this sound like a good idea? If yes should I go with a raid card or just mirror another drive? Do you know any good IDE backup devices?
Any ideas would help.
