Hi there, I own a Compaq Evo N800v that started to have some distortion and five minutes later had lost all the sound, so after reinstalling drivers and seeing that the problem wasn’t solved looks as if the sound card has fried itself.
Can anyone out there help me out to identify the sound card?
I opened the laptop using the Compaq Maintenance and Service Guide and saw that everything is on the mainboard, and I have located cheap mainboards for this laptop with other defects, so I was wondering if replacing just the sound card is not that dificult and if someone can light me up a bit.
