Only if you have the second release of XP with Service Pack 1.

If you have the original version, I don't believe that even with SP1 that removing IE is an easy task.

Perhaps the first question should be why do you think you need to remove and re-install IE?

If you have an IE issue, try installing IE6 SP1.

If it is a JAVA issue, I personally recommend installing Sun's version of JAVA.

If you don't have Service Pack 1 installed go to stage 2, else do following:

1. Close IE if there is an opened copy.
2. Click Start | Settings | Control Panel. (In XP, click Start then Control Panel.)
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.4. Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP 1.
5. Click Add/Remove or Change/Remove whatever you see

Stage 2
1. Download IE SP1 from MS
2. Start ie6setup.exe
3. Chose desired options to install
You could optionally chose to download only instead of directly installing IE. This way you could repeat installation.

Hope this will help

If you have not SP1 skip the above
