I received a Dell Dimension XPS T700r, which has been updated with BIOS A08, in January 2000. The software is Windows 98 Second Edition, IE 5.0, and MS Outlook Express 5.
IE has 40-bit cipher strength. I want to change it to 128-bit cipher strength. This is required by many sites.
I called Dell and asked why they installed the 40-bit version when a PC they sent me in July 1998 had 128-bit. They said it was because of the current law suites that Microsoft is going through. That seems strange, but I could not dispute it. Their only suggestion was to check the Microsoft knowledge base. I have tried, but not succeeded.
I would appreciate any assistance on how to upgrade. Thank you
