IE 6/5.5 dual setup

By jknox ·
Is there anyway to have both IE6 and 5.5 on the same system but as different installs. I just want to test 6 but not overwrite my current IE version.

I don't think so. I've seen it done and working. I just forget how to configure it.

I don't find myself disagreeing with SoulRider very often, but here's "a way" to do it.

First, a way not to do it: the IE series (4.0 and up) claims you can uninstall it and roll back to the previous version. It's never worked for me in the twoor three times I've tried.

The best way is to make your system dual-boot, i.e. multiple copies of your operating system. The way to do this will depend on what OS you have, so maybe you could post a comment with that information?

The point is that you can then test IE 6 without risk to your primary copy of the OS.

Good fortune,
Don

Not quite what I was looking for. I know there was a way to dual load IE 4 and 5. Perhaps there isn't for 6.
