IE 6 Hangs Opening Links

AMD 2000xp
512 Meg Ram
W2000 Pro

I have a system with IE 6 on it that IE6 will not let me click on links after browsing several minutes. The rest of the system is up and running fine. The only way to recover is to reboot the system

I havetried to reinstall ie 6 with no luck. Any suggestions
