IE 6 Uninstall vs issue

By ncmrecruiters ·
Soulrider: I have been having a lot of problems with IE6 with respect to JavaScripts not working. Denied access to sites and web pages that require it. I have tried everything to fix this problem, but to no avail. Most sites cannot pick up what browser I am using and as a result deny access. Some say that it is any older version, but it is actually the latest. Will the removal via the removal tool and aubsequent reinstall fix this? Or, must I perform open heart sugery on the Windows Registry?

IE 6 Uninstall vs issue

The idea of a fresh install to to start fresh, this includes replacing the corrupt install or files, the removal tool will take care of the registry files when removal is performed.
once you have a fresh install,be sure that you have the updated javascript downloads along with the 128 bit encryption which should be included with IE 6,check by opening browser and click the Help Menu, select About Internet Explorer to view if system has 128 bit encryption,if not then go to Microsft web site and download the latest, older versions may not have 128 so you will need to download and install on system which may be why you are not getting access to other sites that require it.
After the removal boot computer and check the registy for IE 6 and if present then you can delete the line and then do a fresh install, most likely you will not have to edit registry after you remove the application.
Hope this Helps
