i.e. 6.0

By kashmeir63 ·
Hi,
I'm running a windows nt4.0 envrionment w/95/98 clients. As far as internet we are using m.s. proxy 2.0... Is there a way to download i.e. 6.0 to all computers instead of doing it manually. I know I could probably use a logon script but that would cause a lot of traffic... I hope this made sense..Thanks in advance...

I don't know how to download IE to all computers at once.
However, you only need to download it once for each version of Windows OS.
Create a network folder for IE for each OS.
Use the advanced options, and select save files. Make sure to check all options that may be needed.
Download the files.
Then, you can either point each machine to the proper network folder, or burn the install files onto a CD, and install from there.

I know that there are at least 3 different versions of IE6 W98, WMe, WNT.

There is some question as to how compatable IE6 is with W95. I had no problems with W95 "C".

Use IEAK to make a cool IE template then email the link of your "package" to the users. They can then initiate (not modify) it themselves or you can use a free SMS eval to push-it-out.
