IE 7

By mr_t_wright ·
Ok I am trying to help this teacher. She used to be able to run reports of the TEA website, but today all of a sudden she can't. I ran a scan nothing found, ok not a flag. But another lady says she was told by a TEA tech that they have to be using IE 7. So i check the current version and it says 6. Now at this point IE opens up and you can browse she just cant run the reports. But, after I go to the Microsoft site, download IE 7 run it allow it to install and it asks me to restart, I do. Upon restarting when I dbl click on IE icon the window opens and then disappears...??? I have no Idea why

Also I tried to go in and change the homepage, there is no longer a "internet Connections" tab.... For some reason when I install IE 7, IE no longer works...

Jinitiator issue.
If you are on her profile and you show all hidden files and folders you should discover some Hid_err1 (or something like that) messages.
To resolve it uninstall all instances of Java and JInitiator. Clean out the Java caches and other Java references in her profile.
Install the latest Java. Open IE, Set Pop-up blocker to allow the site;
Example if it is Cornell University - *
Go to the page needed, watch for an accept certificate popup and Grant Always.

We also experience similiar issues when MSN, Live, Chrome, and even Google Toolbars are installed. If there are others first try to allow pop-ups through their little blockers too.
Should that fail uninstall, them.

Just wanted to thank you for trying to help with my issues. I got it working, I had to make some changes in my Internet options. I also think disabling some of the addons helped as well so thanks.
