IE 8 add on disabled: can’t play video on web page

    Locked

I have a user pc with XP pro, IE 8 that can’t play video voice recording on a web page. The user’s pc is block by proxy firewall. The user IE 8 doesn’t have latest Java because it is blocked by proxy firewall.

I can play that video recording on my IE 8 browser just fine since I have full internet access. My browser also has latest Java udate.

The user IE 8 browser can’t play the video file because it produce error “add ons are disabled”.

Is the problem of playing video recording due to proxy firewall that blocks IE 8 from accessing the link on web site? The user can log into this website and see the video file link just fine. However when the user launch the video recording it is blocked by proxy firewall. IE 8 indicates adds ons are disabled.

I can’t do manual java update. Java indicates another software is running. I can’t find the software that suppose to be running in task manager.

There is no Sun Java installed in window. however there is IBM SDK java. Is IBM java interfering with sun java installation?
