IE 8 Stops Working in WIN7 RC

By lmac1947 ·
I keep getting a message that IE8 has stopped working and that Windows is looking for a solution. After a minute or so I get a window asking if I want to continue with my last session or start a new one. I start a new one.

I am testing Win 7RC with only 1gb ram to see how it performs. Its pretty slow but the only problem I have had is the above.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm running a P4 2.6gz with 3 HDs and one DVD R/W. Win7 is on one partition and Unbunto Linux is on another partition on this 160 gb HD. Each partition uses about 80gb.

Too Soon To Tell

Thanks for the reply. I followed the link and am running IE8 clean. So far, no problems, but it sometimes takes awhile for the prob to show up. I also turned off protected mode.

I wonder how many problems may show up because I'm only running with 1gb RAM?

I used an old

Dell 240 Precision to test Vista with 1GB of RAM. It worked OK and allowed me to use XP drivers for the Network card. Run it in Classic view and you should be OK.
Click Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced system settings, Performance Settings and tick Adjust for best performance.
