The system was infected with malware, but it is cleaned up now. IE and Chrome will just keep crashing though.
The OS is vista, and I tried downgrading to IE7, and back to IE8,reset IE through Internet Options, uninstalled/reinstalled chrome, cleared temp files, uninstalled security software. Nothing was worked.
Any suggestions other than backup/re-install?
