What's the address that it is seeking out?

Might help to nail down which piece of malware or trojan is on the system.

Ken:

It seems that you could infected with a specific brand of bug called a browser hijacker. Anti-virus software won't find and delete them. Unfortunately regular sypware might not be as effective. There are many variantes of these bugs so I won't even go into details which one could be.

I've successfully treated some infected computers such as yours following these simple outlined steps.

Try downloading and running two freebie applications. First one is CWShredder that might solve your problem.

You can download it from here:

http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html

if you are still having the problem try the second one Hijackthis.

http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

Also, this tools are for removing the bug only. To keep yourself free from this pests you will nee to.

TO keep from being re-infected. You must do this:

1-) Keep your antivirus subscription renewed and the liveupdate running on a regular basis.

2-) Keep a Firewall I recommend Zone alarm it is very good and you can get a trial version for free.

3-)Use the free sypware tools like Microsoft defender beta version and Yahoo tool bar with anti-spyware.

4-) you might also try Ad-aware 6.0 it's also free and very effective.

Good luck and keep me posted.

Go to control panel, internet option then click delete cookies, delete files. If this won't stop, try to reinstall your ie browser because more likely your browser was modified by a spyware.

Re: Internet browzer popping up automatically after boot up and whilst in,.

by fritzblitz230 In reply to

I have had a problem over the past 3 weeks.

My Internet Browzer (IExplorer) pops up automatically after I switch it on. 3 to 4 IE browzer windows pop up without me double clicking onto the same icon.

Secondly, whilst I am in IE and looking at a web page, my browzer automatically returns to my home page without me clicking onto my preferred home page (google.com.au).

Thirdly, whilst I am typing a document in Word, Excel of Outlook, my Internet browzer window pops up automatically without me double clicking onto it.

Last night, I downloaded Mozilla 2 and made it my default browzer. I experienced the same problems.

Can anyone help me. I am using Norton 2007; Adware and CWShredder to eliminate this suspected spyware. I have reinstalled Windows XP onto my laptop 4 times and I have made no progress.

CHEERS
